Southlake's Animal Control Officer responds to animal-related calls for service, collects stray animals, and investigates vicious animal complaints.
The City of Southlake contracts with the North Richland Hills Animal Shelter to maintain and care for collected animals. Field Services Officer, Ronnie White, carries out Southlake's animal control duties. Some of his responsibilities include picking up and transporting stray animals to the animal shelter, and investigating animal-related complaints. Field Services Officer White works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You may also submit an animal related complaint online by clicking here.

What happens if I find a stray animal after hours?
The City of Southlake does not have an animal shelter facility. The City currently contracts with North Richland Hills Animal Adoption and Rescue for that service. Call the Southlake Police non-emergency number (817-743-4524) if you find a stray animal after hours. You will be asked to keep the animal until the Field Services Officer reports for duty and can transport the animal to the North Richland Hills shelter.

What can be done about wild animals?
Southlake DPS has traps available for checkout; you are responsible for setting the trap on your property. Please contact Field Services Officer White to retrieve the trapped animal. In addition, you can visit the Living with the Animals information page.
Can you tell me about animal tracking chip?
This is a microchip your veterinarian implants underneath your pet's skin.If your pet is found, a scanner "reads" the chip's information. This aids animal control officers across the county in reuniting pets and their owners.
What is the contact number to report lost or stray animals?
You may call the non-emergency police line at (817)743-4524. You may also access Pets 911--the link allows you to search geographical areas for your pet. You may also enter a lost animal on Pets 911, using it as another tool to help locate your lost pet.
